Shain teaches web design and production and public opinion and propaganda. He worked for newspapers in Kentucky and Colorado and conducted research for public television in Denver. He has published a book on war films and several research articles and reports on popular culture and society.

Lillie Fears

Lillie M. Fears
Associate Professor of Journalism

Ph.D., University of Missouri - Coumbia

Fears teaches race, gender and media; public opinion, propaganda and media; communications research; media history; news writing; and desktop publishing.  She has worked as a reporter and copy editor for newspapers in Arkansas, Missouri and Florida; as a reporter for a cable news station in Florida; and as a government communications director.  A co-author of the book, Social Responsibility and Science News, she also has published a variety of journal articles.

Gil Fowler

Gilbert L, Fowler, Jr.

Ph.D., Southern Illinois University - Carbondale

Fowler teaches research techniques, mass communications and society and public relations. He has consulted in news and public relations throughout the country. He was named the nation's outstanding Kappa Tau Alpha adviser and one of Ole' Miss' top 50 journalism alumni.

Gambill teaches law and ethics, reporting, news writing and media history. He has worked for newspapers in Arkansas and Oklahoma. He was named the outstanding journalism educator by the Arkansas Press Association.

Myleea Hill

Hill teaches courses in public relations, advertising, news writing and mass communication.  A former professional in newspapers, public relations and advertising, Hill also was vice president for academic affairs for Crowley's Ridge Community College in Paragould.  She also advises the ASU chapter of the American Advertising Federation.

Pradeep Mishra
Instructor in Graphic Communications

M.P.A., Arkansas State University

Mishra teaches digital pre-press, graphic production systems, post-press technology and distribution management, graphic production management, and photography.  He was general manager, production and plant manager for Tata Donnelley Limited, the largest commercial printing and publishing company in India, many years before joining ASU.  He is faculty advisor for Gamma Epsilon Tau (GET) and the ASU International Student Association

Lisa Moskal

Moskal teaches Principles of Public Relations, PR Tools & Techniques and PR Case Studies & Campaigns as well as Crisis Communications and Integrated Communication Strategies. She is also the faculty advisor for PRSSA, a pre-professional club for PR majors. Her professional experience spans nearly two decades and includes agency, corporate and nonprofit work. She served as VP of Integrated Marketing for a Memphis agency, Manager of Strategic Marketing for Harrah’s Corp. and Assistant Development Director for United Cerebral Palsy.

Bonnie Thrasher

Bonnie L. Thrasher

M.A., University of Alabama

Thrasher teaches reporting, editing and news writing. She was a reporter for newspapers in Mississippi. She advises the student newspaper, The Herald. Under her leadership, the paper has won regional and national awards for excellence. She is president of the Arkansas chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. She also serves as Career Development Committee Chair for College Media Advisers.

Jack Zibluk

Jack Zibluk
Associate Professor of Journalism

Ph.D., Bowling Green State University

Zibluk teaches photography, photojournalism, news design, desktop publishing and news writing. He worked as a reporter and editor for newspapers in Connecticut and for the Memphis Commercial-Appeal. He was National Geographic magazine faculty fellow in 2002, and in 2005, he won the National Press Photographers Association educator award, the Robin T. Garland Award. Zibluk also serves as chair of the NPPA national student photo contest and the NPPA internship bank. He is head of the Small Programs Group of the Association of Educators in Journalism and Mass Communication. Zibluk is a published scholar and ethics columnist for News Photographer magazine.

Amienyi teaches media advertising and sales, mass communications theory, research methods and video production. He was a film producer and videographer in Nigeria and worked in radio and television in the U.S. His research on national development has appeared in a variety of national and international publications. He is author of the book, Communicating National Integration: Empowering Development in African Countries (Aldershot, UK: Ashgate, 2005), and received a Fulbright Fellowship to teach and conduct research at The University of Malawi - The Polytechnic in 2005.

Alexander Brown

Brown joined the RTV faculty in Fall 2005. He teaches video and video post production, corporate media, programs and audiences, and other mass media courses. Before joining the ASU RTV faculty, Alex was producer-director and cable manager for the Mississippi State University Television Center and taught mass comm courses for MSU. He worked with the MSU football stadium Jumbotron, Fox Sports South coach's show, and other cable programming.

Doyle teaches audio production, principles of advertising, media planning, and promotional writing for electronic media. He’s the internship coordinator for the RTV department. His professional background is in commercial and public radio. Doyle hosts “Music from the Isles” on KASU-FM.

Collin Pillow

TV Studio Supervisor

M.S.M.C., Arkansas State University

Pillow teaches multimedia production, Internet communications, corporate media, and video post-production. He has a strong professional background and a long list of multimedia and video productions. He directs and produces both the "Indian Eye" at ASU athletic events and video replays of ASU football and basketball games for ASU-TV Channel 18.

Mary E. Jackson Pitts

Pitts teaches communications research, broadcast documentary, mass communication in modern society and video post-production. She worked at radio and television stations in Arkansas. Her students' research and her research have been presented to scholarly meetings throughout the country. She edits the Southwest Mass Communication Journal.

Roberts joined the RTV program after successful years as a radio host, producer and reporter for stations in Florida and Mississippi. He served as general manager of the radio station at Mississippi Valley State University. He is taking a leadership role in the ASU radio-television department’s broadcast news emphasis. Roberts formerly taught at William Penn University and Mississippi Valley State University.
